Societal Values: The Real Bottom Line!
The link between being people-oriented and profit-oriented is now statistical fact. However, the fact still seems lost on a few organizations still operating with an industrial-age mindset. When faced with a hard choice between people or profit, it is the rare manager who puts people first. This session aims to recognize the success of organizations that have made the decision to always put people first. From their experiences, we hope to learn how to create sustainable business value in our own organizations by aligning it with people's best interests.

Earth Hour: Protecting People from Earth's Wrath
In the wake of the ecological disasters our country experienced the last two years, going green has gone from "feel good advocacy" to "must do initiative." What is needed is a two-pronged approach that makes companies responsible fro protecting the environment, while also preparing their people for the worst. In this session, we will determine: What can we do to measure and reduce our negative environmental impact? What essential disaster management practices should we put in place? How do we do all these with as little cost and disruption to the business as possible?

Uploading HR ver. 2.0: Unifying New Technologies with People
Technology allows us to work faster and smarter, and yet it also leaves us with no choice but to bring our work everywhere we go - even our homes. In this session, we will find out what the latest technological developments are, and more importantly, how these can be used to help people achieve what matters most in their lives. We also want to learn how people managers can leverage this technology without having to call their IT Departments every 10 minutes. We'll also look into tech-driven issues such as using social media as a tool for recruitment and screening, and data protection in a paperless world.

Playing with the Tigers: Responding to the Emerging Asian Markets
By 2020, China and India will be among the top 5 economies of the world. This rapid development knocking on our doors presents both threats and opportunities. In this session, we look for answers to these questions: What factors of these tigers' success can we adopt? In what ways should the Philippines welcome these changes and how do we respond proactively to these opportunities? And what steps must be taken to ensure that we continue to have value as an economy and as people managers in this coming economic shift?
